Checkes & Balances
If you put our three branches of government into a triangle, at the top would be the Executive Branch, and the two bottom corners would be the Judicial Branch and the Legislative Branch. Each part of the government is connected to each other and they all play a part in keeping each other in line. Each branch has its own responsibilities and powers, and they all make sure each other don't gain too much power. This is a system called Checks & Balances.
